Home Town Elevator is an authorized Local Dealer of Stiltz Homelifts, Harmar-Pollock, and GMV North America elevators.
Safety is our number one priority, as such all our elevators have a designated emergency telephone line installed.
Elevators are a big investment however they allow for:
For those who are fully dependent on their mobility device to avoid the transfer and avoid the risk of a fall entirely (ex. from a wheelchair to a stairlift, and back into a wheelchair)
Mobility devices to move with the individual
More independence by being able to move items, such as laundry or supplies, between floors
What about stairlifts?
Stairlifts are more cost efficient than an elevator, but are limited to:
Individuals who are able to sit up on their own
Can safely transfer from a mobility device, such as a wheelchair, onto the stairlift chair
A compact lift system specifically designed for installation and use within a residential home.
Residential Elevators are:
Smaller than commercial
Offer design customization
Created for shorter travel, 2-5 floors only
Residential elevators are a great option for:
Individuals of all ages who have mobility challenges, such as:
Families with children with disabilities
Seniors who would like to stay in their home safely for longer due to increasing mobility difficulties
Seniors that rely on mobility devices (cane, walker, wheelchair, scooter)
Live in a home with more than one level (ex. 2+ level home)
Once the location of where the elevator is going to be installed is decided upon, with the help of Home Town Elevator team, a hole is made through the floors for the elevator to pass through. The entire installation process takes 3-5 days.
You've had your free in-home estimate and you would like to move forward with the purchase and installation of a home elevator. These are the next steps:
We go over the contract and appropriate paperwork. At this time we ask for a 50% deposit.
The model you've selected is ordered by us from the manufacturer. This takes 4 weeks or less.
During the 4 week time period (or less), the site prep takes place.
A contractor is hired to complete the required site work, creating the opening in the floor for the elevator, and any electrical work required for the installation. Home Town Elevator can recommend a fully insured qualified contractor or you're welcome to use a contractor of your own choosing.
If you choose to go with a contractor of your choosing, we provide the exact specifications required for the elevator (a template for the floor opening, and electrical specifications).
Once we receive the model from the manufacturer, we schedule an installation date for your elevator.
The installation of the elevator takes 3-5 days in total.
Did you know that some elevator models do not require any additional electrical work and can be plugged into your standard 120 volt outlet.
See below for some of the installation pictures, as well as our Gallery page to see the finished product.
Permits vary in every municipality, to verify if you require a permit please check your municipal by-laws and regulations.
